Body Shape And Weight Help?

I can’t even begin to explain how much I hate the way I look. I come from my mom’s side of the family, and in that family all the girls start out really skinny, but around the teens they tend to get a little chunky. Now that I’ve gone through puberty or whatever, I’m not the stick figure I used to be. I go to the gym almost everyday and work muscles, and run for half an hour. Most of the time, I’ll eat a protein bar for lunch and sometimes for dinner too. I’m 5″3, 118 pounds. Last school year I was a size 3 (pants) and I just moved to a 5. I’d be TOTALLY cool with that, if it weren’t for the fact that my upper body is sooo small. I look in the mirror and it just looks so weird to me! I have a tiny upper body, but a not so small lower body. Am I overreacting? Is that just something that only I notice because it bothers me? This is really screwing with my self confidence. Schools just around the corner, too :(
I know what I just said was a bunch of rambling and you’re probably sitting there thinking I’m weird, but I want your honest opinions :)

    It sounds to me like you are at a healthy weight. Don’t worry so much – you are still growing! The fact that your upper body is smaller than your lower is nothing to fret about, as it likely you just have a pear shape (which is one the most common body shapes among women). Your BMI(Body Mass Index) is 20.3, and a healthy BMI is between 18.5 and 25. Learn to appreciate your small upper body, and in time, to love your lower body as well. No one is perfect, and it is imperfections which make each and everyone of us unique and beautiful! Try working on your confidence and self-esteem – not your body- before school starts. :)

    Its ok, i’m the same size as you!
    The jean size increase probably isn’t because of you gaining weight, just your hips getting wider like every girls do.
    Just eat healthy (dont skip meals whatever you do!)

    Its just what you think of yourself your weight for your height is fine and if you go to gym alot you should be pretty fit dont worry bout it.

    u sound fine to me. im also 5′3″ nd weight like 115 or 118 lbs and a size 3-5 lol

    If i were you i would eat more water based foods like fruit, you get full with out all the calories. But also it depends on what you eat on a daily basis. I wouldnt just eat protein bars i would try yogurt, salad, fruits, veggies, lean protein, try real meals instead of one that comes in a wrapper, sometimes they are loaded with sugar, i know there tempting to just grab one but try real food and see how it goes.
