it’s a little thing called society.
    everywhere we look,
someone’s telling us we’re not good enough.

because women tend to be insecure. they get this idea pushed into their minds by society, the media, their peers that being fat or even curvy is horrible, and that the numbers on the scale directly correlate with their value as people. they feel like if they aren’t a certain weight, then they aren’t attractive, and if they aren’t attractive, people won’t care about/like/notice them. it’s different for every girl, and not every girl is concerned with her weight, but in general, i think this is why.

Honestly, the way the media glamorizes being thin affects the way people think about their bodies. When has the media ever placed the spotlight on someone who was healthy and curvy? or chubby or however you want to look at it? The more the media glamorize thin starlets, the more women look at themselves and ask “How can I look like that?” With confidence lacking, they become self concious, but people should be proud of their body type.

I think some women(including myself) will always be insecure! I’ve been with my husband for 3 years and have been exactly the same(besides maybe losing 2 or 3 pounds) and he tells me alllllllllll the time he loves me the way I am, that I’m thin and perfect as I am ect. And I know I’m not fat, I am fairly thin yet I feel like I could look better so I exercise and exercise away!
EDIT: I also agree with the above posters. The media makes it very hard…especially with Plastic surgery being so popular now…it’s hard not to feel like you’re just not good enough

Can you blame females? Just look at the world, society, and the media today. The only type of female that is considered beautiful is one that most females will never resemble. Then it doesn’t help that family, friends, and random people are always judging, and guys make it worse when they only go after one type of female.

From the media there is great pressure to be slim. This is the image of beauty that we are bombarded with and makes women insecure about themselves and often leads to eating disorders. I am glad you find women beautiful.

Because every three seconds we see some 20 yr. old d-cup, 5′10″ 120lb standard of perfection slapping us in the face. Combine that with the people-pleasing and perfectionism natural to the female psyche, and viola! There you have it.
